Entre 6 Start Internet shopping mall

Back at 1990’s, when Internet shopping was poped up, it was almost adventure. Starting Online shopping mall, it cost much cheaper than start retail shop but, Of course, it was on the beginning stage and there’s huge uncertainty and nobody haven't walk the way. But at that time there’s small number of competitors existed so it was much easier to get attention from customers and investors.

Right now, start Internet business is still adventurus. because of too many competetors exist on the market. Unless you have your own successful off-line company like ‘CJ mall' or ‘Shinsaegye Mall' it's really make success only with price. They was late or new comer in online shopping business but they have money to start with higher position. Also we better not compete with low price policy. If you handle limited item like computer components, even if you have some knowledge about the product circulation and market condition, it will cost a lot. If you compete with low price, that means there probably have competitor who already known.

So what can we choose? What if we don’t have enough money to spend for advertise and we are inexperience, we should try something differentiation. Well, online niche market on apparel business is too common and famous case. so I'll show something different.

The strategy I found is 'minimizing cost and risk'. The way she makes success in the article was when she builds up her own shopping mall site she does not have much confidence because of the risk I have mentioned above and when she start her online clothing store it wasn’t very successful. So, she chooses to use her shopping mall site as portal shopping mall. In her web site, she covers hundred of items from kitchen soap to insurance and car. Actually she doesn’t really handle all the items. If you click any of those items you will directly link to another Internet shop that has competitive power and she get 1~20% of commission of product price from the destined shopping mall.
Maybe her company cannot grow up major shopping like amazon.com but not everyone can make that great success, anyway.
